Seribu Island Water Resources Sub-agency personnel have completed the improvement of water channel and control box at RT 01/03, Panggang Island Urban Village, Seribu Utara Sub-district.
Sub-agency Head, Hendri, said the 72 long water channel got damage on its plaster and eroded control box.
Channel in RW 04 Rawa Buaya Dredged to Prevent Inundation“We need to improve the channel so that it can flow the water normally and prevent inundation,” he said, Wednesday (2/21).
The personnel replaced 10 channel covers, control box and its pipe. Mud was also dredged out from the channel.
“We deploy seven personnel from February 12, 2024 ago. Now it’s already completed,” he added.
He hopes this effort will prevent inundation on the surrounding area during heavy rain.
“Previously, the surrounding area was often inundated. Let’s keep this channel clean,” he stated.
One of the residents, Jumairoh (54), appreciated and thanked the personnel for improving the water channel.
“Now the environment looks cleaner and better,” she admitted.
